Time Being

Oregon Center for Contemporary Art | Curated by Blake Shell

The figures in my drawings are constructed by what they touch and what touches them; they reflect an interiority that is fragmented and mutable. The spaces and people around us push and pull at our edges while disrupting and reconstituting our psyches. We are shaped by discourse, current events, and familial bonds; however, the events of the past year have left many of us deprived of our social practices. What happens to the self in that state of deprivation?
